More for May

May is National Foster Care Month

Engaging Youth. Building Supports. Strengthening Opportunities.

The Children's Bureau's National Foster Care Month campaign recognizes the important role that people from all parts of child welfare play in supporting children, youth, and families. This year's theme highlights the need to create a child welfare system that authentically engages and supports young people who are preparing to leave foster care.

Parent Advisory Council Training June 20

The Wyoming Family Resource Centers Collective is excited to offer you and your staff an opportunity to participate in Parent Advisory Council training scheduled for June 20 from 9:00 a.m. to Noon via Zoom. (This is a duplicate of the session from March 26.)

“Build it and they will come,” or so the movie quote goes. If you’re anxious to be a “field of dreams” for your community but want to make sure your outreach to caregivers is authentic and welcoming, join us to examine best practice family engagement strategies.  Then, let’s examine how to support family members so that they can provide input on FRC initiatives and collaborate with staff, community members, and fellow caregivers through the development of parent/caregiver advisory boards. When staff, caregivers, and community members work together, it’s a home run for all!

There is no cost to participants to attend this training and registration can be completed through this link. Spots are limited so please register as soon as possible.

Training fees for this event are paid for through the federal Wyoming Preschool Development Grant (number 90TP0082-03-02) administered by The Align Team on behalf of the Wyoming Department of Family Services.
