Resource management fee changesSome of our resource management fees are set to change from next month. The new fees, which were proposed in the Draft Annual Plan consulted on in February/March, were approved by councillors this week. They will come into effect for all applications lodged from 1 July 2026 onwards. You can view all of the fees for 2026/27 on our website. Key changes
Deposit increasesWe didn’t change the deposits or hourly rates for resource consent processing last year, so this year’s fees reflect changes in the cost of processing over the past two years. The new deposit amounts should give applicants a better upfront indication of the actual costs for different types of applications. Please note that while some of the deposit increases are quite significant, the actual costs will continue to be calculated when processing is complete, with refunds or invoices issued as relevant. Notices of requirement to remove designationsOur process is changing for notices to remove a designation in full under section 182 RMA. From now on, we won’t be taking a fee for receiving these notices or entering them into our consenting system, as this is an administrative exercise of updating the District Plan. Please send in these notices to planchange@ccc.govt.nz There’s no change to the process for partial removal of designations.
