CRGV updateUnfortunately, we have to confirm a further case of cutaneous renal glomerular vasculopathy (often termed CRGV and sometimes known as Alabama Rot). This case was from Surbiton (Greater London). This brings the total number of confirmed cases to 243 since 2012, with 39 in 2020. Doing our bit for the NHS Like many veterinary facilities, Anderson Moores has lent life-saving equipment to hospitals in both Hampshire and Greater London. We have also donated 25 boxes of thumb loop gowns to a local hospital and 18 sets of scrubs to a GP practice in the area. Meet our new Dentist! Matthew is one of only a handful of Veterinary Dentists in the UK. He has a particular interest in endodontic (root canal) treatment and has completed over 3000 procedures in dogs and cats. Helping Ernie return to the front line Police Dog Ernie has been a regular patient of our Dentist, Matthew Oxford, during his service career and was recently referred to Anderson Moores following an incident at work. Whilst trying to stop a suspect carrying a samurai sword and a machete, Ernie was violently shut in a door which caused significant damage to his foot and canine tooth. Ernie had an extensive fracture of his left lower canine tooth, with exposure of the pulp. Injuries such as this can be devastating for service dogs, so Matthew worked hard to preserve the remaining tooth structures with root canal treatment. Despite the trauma, Ernie still managed to get the suspect, who was later charged under Finn’s Law, which protects service dogs. We are pleased to report that Ernie is now back on duty, putting his life on the line to keep us all safe!
