Te Kaha Surrounding Streets
Asphalting starting today
Over the last few weeks, our contractors have removed the stadium fences and started preparing the grounds and surrounding footpaths for the last layer of asphalt and paving.
Temporary fencing is in place on Barbadoes, Tuam and Madras Streets to allow contractors to work safely and keep the stadium grounds secure. Lane and footpath closures are also in place.
Footpath asphalting is starting today on Barbadoes Street. This will progress around to Tuam Street next week, followed by Madras Street. Paving works will follow, starting on Barbadoes Street, as the asphalting progresses.
As work is completed on each street, the temporary fencing will be moved from the road to the stadium boundary, and the traffic lane and footpath will reopen. Barbadoes Street will be the first to reopen in early December.
All works are on track to finish around mid-December.
Temporary construction fences will remain in place at the stadium boundary until April to keep the grounds secure.
Maintenance work around the stadium
There are a couple of spots around the stadium that need some minor maintenance. We're getting this done now to avoid any further disruption down the track.
Hereford and Barbadoes corner
From Monday 1 December to Wednesday 3 December, we're doing some maintenance on the footpath at the corner of Hereford and Barbadoes Streets.
There will be a no left turn from Barbadoes Street onto Hereford Street.
Night works at Lichfield and Madras corner
On Monday 1 December we're doing night works at the corner of Lichfield and Madras Street.
Work will take place from 6pm on Monday until 6am Tuesday morning.
