Grant Announcements!

The Office of Research is changing gears for a new research event in the 2022-2023 academic year. In place of the annual Research Day event, the department is hosting a week of activities designed to inspire new knowledge, boost collaboration and spark discovery. Research Week will be taking place April 17-21, 2023.

The call for poster abstract submissions for Research Week is now open. The poster session is open to all MCW faculty, staff, students, postdocs, residents and fellows.

In addition to the publication of abstracts in our robust Event Catalog, researchers will be invited to participate in our live, in-person poster presentations. An option to provide an audio/video recording and/or a poster file for the Catalog will also be welcome after submission of the text abstract.

All text abstracts must be submitted by Thursday, Feb. 16, at 12 p.m. For inquires, please contact the Office of Research.

OnCore Enterprise Use: Support for Universal Adoption by Spring 2023

The Medical College of Wisconsin, in partnership with Froedtert Health (F&MCW), has invested in the OnCore clinical trial management system to support standardized clinical trials workflows and manage clinical research financial and operational compliance. As part of our joint F&MCW research strategic plan, implementation of the OnCore Financials module is prioritized to be completed by June 2023. For successful implementation of this module, full adoption of OnCore by departments that conduct clinical trials at F&MCW is necessary to help expedite and enhance the quality of clinical trials deployment. Upon OnCore Financials implementation, use of OnCore will be required for any study that involves Froedtert Health Charges and/or MCW Professional Charges requiring Epic billing.

Further, use of OnCore for study management is strongly recommended and available at no cost to all MCW investigators, including pediatrics and community-based researchers. Many of OnCore’s current functions would directly benefit these study teams, including integration with eBridge, Payments and Florence eBinders. Determination of what studies should be entered into OnCore can be found here. Learn more about OnCore Financials implementation on Infoscope. For inquiries, contact the OnCore Implementation team at oncore@mcw.edu.
