CIF has updated its "Backgrounder on the Ontario Blue Box Program Transition to Producer Responsibility", first published in September 2021. This customizable tool can assist in communicating what is happening with regards to the transition of Ontario's blue box program to a producer responsibility framework to:

• municipal and First Nation staff teams,
• senior leaders and elected officials, and
• the general public.

This resource was updated to include more information regarding Producer Responsibility Organizations (PROs), key considerations in deciding whether to become a service provider to the PROs, as well as more detail with respect to ineligible sources.
