Welcome to this edition of the Immigration Advisers Authority newsletter. This issue highlights recent developments across the immigration system, along with practical guidance to support advisers in delivering high-quality, compliant services.
From February to June 2026, the Authority ran marketing campaigns using social media and Google Ads to encourage people seeking immigration advice to use a licensed immigration adviser and check the IAA public register. This supports greater public awareness and confidence in the system.
Across this edition you’ll see a focus on:
- decision-ready applications and robust supporting evidence
- effective supervision and professional business practices
- managing conflicts of interest and maintaining clear client records.
This edition also covers recent Tribunal decisions. They show what happens when you do not follow the Code.
Key risks include:
- poor supervision
- weak client care

- poor record keeping.

Change to IPT fees
From 1 July Immigration and Protection Tribunal Fees are increasing from $943.00 to $964.00.
