Wheatbelt Health Professionals Network Northam networking event

Local health professionals, students and visiting medical specialists met at the Farmer's Home Hotel in Northam on 26 July 2023 for a networking event hosted by the Wheatbelt Health Professionals Network. Thank you to those who attended and we look forward to seeing you again next time!

 

Diabetes and Healthy Eating Webinar 

Tuesday 15 August I 4.00pm - 5.00pm

This webinar will provide you with an overview on healthy eating and diabetes. As a health professional, you have many opportunities to support people living with diabetes. Knowing more about the general management of diabetes can help you have more meaningful conversations with the people you see.
In this 60-minute program, we will cover:
-    why healthy eating important in diabetes management
-    the role of carbohydrate food
-    the Glycemic Index (GI)
-    the nutrition recommendations for people living with diabetes referencing the Australian Dietary guidelines
-    the support and resources available through the NDSS for people living with diabetes
There will also be time at the end of the webinar for questions.
This webinar is facilitated by ADEA and delivered by a Credentialled Diabetes Educator.
