Regional Land Transport Plan (RLTP) mid-term review

Help us improve the way people and products move across the Horizons Region by having your say in this mid-term review of the current RLTP.

The Regional Land Transport Plan (RLTP) is our blueprint for the regional transport network, and is a key part of securing funding to support and improve all things land transport.

Land transport includes private and commercial vehicles, cyclists and pedestrians - so if you're a road user, we want to hear from you. This plan does not, however, include public transport activities - those are decided through our Regional Public Transport Plan.

We want to hear your thoughts on our proposed investment priorities, objectives and activities included in the draft mid-term review.

Development and review of an RLTP is a requirement under the Land Transport Management Act 2003. Regional transport committees are required to develop a regional land transport plan, in consultation with their community and stakeholders, every six years, and complete a mid-term review in the third year of the plan. The last 6-yearly update to the plan was made in 2021, making 2024 the 3-year mark for a mid-term review.

Land transport affects everyone in the Horizons Region, so we want to hear what our communities think about our proposed vision for the remainder of the current plan.

Submissions are open now until 5pm,

11 March 2024.
