Montana Expands Filing Acceptance Dates 

Beginning November 1, 2026, SLIP+ for States accepts all unfiled surplus lines Montana filings with effective dates prior to January 1, 2026. 

Filings with effective dates prior to January 1, 2026: 

• Will not incur SLIP+ transaction fees 
• Will be charged premium taxes, including applicable fire tax

Filers should continue to file endorsements on policies previously reported in the Montana CSI Legacy Portal until the policy cancels or renews.

Filing Guidance

File in SLIP+:
All unfiled new and renewal policies and all subsequent endorsements to those policies.

File in the Montana CSI Legacy Portal:
Cancellations and endorsements on policies previously submitted through the Montana CSI Legacy Portal prior to March 1, 2026.

Policies Effective Prior to 2022

For filings with effective dates before January 1, 2022, enter 1/1/2022 as the effective date in SLIP+. The system will auto-populate the expiration date to one year from the effective date (1/1/2023).
