CHAP TEAM NEWSLETTER - JULY 2022 We are very pleased to announce that two of our sub-projects Cardiac Rehabilitation Especially for Women (CREW) and Cardiac Rehabilitation for All (CR4ALL) have officially commenced, being led by Dr Alline Beleigoli. These projects follow CHAP's framework in engaging, co-designing and evaluating cardiac rehabilitation care pathways but are tailored to the needs and preferences of people (with a focus on women and disadvantaged living with cardiovascular disease) in rural and remote South Australia. INTRODUCING CREW AND CR4ALL ![]() The CREW Project is funded by The Hospital Research Foundation to improve cardiac rehabilitation for women in rural and remote SA. We are currently waiting for approval for Governance that has been submitted to the heads of all departments in the regional local health networks (LHNs) and Ethics submitted to the Southern Adelaide Clinical Human Research Ethics Committee (SAC HREC). A number of co-design consumer workshops will be held in rural and remote SA before the end of year that will promoted soon. ![]() The CR4ALL Project is funded by Flinders Foundation to improve cardiac rehabilitation for disadvantaged populations in rural and remote SA. Governance and Ethics have also been submitted with the Ethics being approved by SAC HREC and we are waiting to hear back on Governance. Consumer interviews will be conducted in the next few months by Dr Jenny Cleland who will commence in July (see below). CHAP NEWS Welcome Dr Jenny Cleland Dr Jenny Cleland will be joining the CR4ALL project team to mid-July to assist with data collection, analysis and reporting. Jenny is a mixed methods researcher who has conducted research in a wide variety of areas including ageing, quality of life, physical activity, disability, education and child poverty and social exclusion. We look forward to welcoming her to our team. ![]() CATCH Web for Metro CR Our Country Access to Cardiac Health (CATCH) web is now available for use by metro cardiac rehabilitation services. Previously it has been used by rural and remote cardiac rehabilitation services only in South Australia. Induction training has been provided to all metro sites but if you would like access or help using this site, please email CHAPproject@flinders.edu.au. ![]() JBI Training in Darwin Ms Orathai Suebkinorn, our PhD student and Dr Norma Bulamu, Health Economist went to Darwin in June to undertake JBI Comprehensive Systematic Review Training. Following this training, both participants have started a protocol for their systematic review. This training is essential for all of those involved in the Systematic Review Club who meet monthly. Previously these sessions were only advertised to CR services working in rural and remote South Australia to participate.
