“Comparison Is the Thief of Joy — And What to Do About It”
In this week's Principal message, Mr Watson turns our attention to a quiet but powerful force shaping our students' wellbeing: the habit of comparison. As social media makes it easier than ever to measure our own lives against everyone else's curated highlights, this piece explores how that habit can erode gratitude and self-worth, and what families and our school community can do together to help young people protect their joy.

Parking Around Newman College
We have recently been made aware that families may be using the vacant property at the corner of Dolomite Court and Silkwood Turn (2 Silkwood Turn) as a place for parking.
This is private land, and we kindly ask that our community avoid parking there. The City of Stirling has let us know their rangers will be patrolling the area over the coming weeks, and vehicles parked on the property may receive an infringement notice.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in looking after our neighbours and the wider College community.

- Tickets: $200 for a table of 8 or $30 for a single ticket (automatically allocated to a table)

2028 Kindergarten Enrolments
Enrolments for Kindergarten 2028 are now open. If you know a family who may be considering Newman College, we encourage you to invite them to explore our community and find out what life at the College is like.

The Newman College App provides parents with a user-friendly interface to receive college notifications, view the college calendar, read the newsletter, report absences, communicate with staff, and access external links including SEQTA and the Uniform Shop.
