It has been a busy time for our MercyCare Early Learning Service team. Our new centre in Piara Waters is already mid-way through construction, our Traineeship Program is taking huge strides forward, and our Intergenerational Program is rolling out across four centres. Rosina Smith Emerging Leaders in Early EducationEmerging leaders in Early Learning Education were given the opportunity to enhance their skills courtesy of a professional development program delivered by Child Australia. Wellbeing Wins at BedfordAt MercyCare Bedford Early Learning Centre, students welcomed the talented team from Yogamigos, who came out to run a yoga and wellbeing class. Hard Work Pays off for OliviaTrainee Olivia has been recognised for her hard work, receiving the CTAS Outstanding Achiever for Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care Award. A Colourful Celebration of HoliOur early learning centres celebrated the Indian Festival Holi as part of our education pillar to embrace diversity and inclusion. Our commitment to educating children about different cultures early helps promote cultural awareness and appreciation. The Roof is on at Piara Waters ELCWork has been progressing well on our new early learning centre, located on the corner of Wright Road and Tuberose Road in Piara Waters. The centre will offer places for 97 children when it opens later this year. MercyCare Celebrates Harmony Week MercyCare staff and volunteers celebrated Harmony Week with food, music, and yarns. By sharing our diverse cultures, we build on our sense of belonging and acceptance, which is at the core of who we are. Great Signs and Gestures When our MercyCare Thornlie Early Learning Centre educators decided to teach a second language to the children, inclusivity was their biggest priority. Auslan was the perfect fit. Early Learning in the Community Meeting members of the early learning community and industry is one of the best parts of our job. So far this year, we've been to the PBC Expo and the Early Childhood Learning and Development Conference. Bringing Generations Together We are excited to share that we have reignited our intergenerational program, which brings together children from our early learning centres with residents from our Residential Aged Care homes. A Whole New Look Our new uniforms are a hit! Bright and colourful designs by Brian Blatchford provide unique, comfortable work wear.
