Step 1: Download and Log In to the DNPAO National Training Support App

We’re excited to see you next week at the DNPAO National Training, May 6-9, at the Westin Peachtree Plaza in Atlanta! We're using the Guidebook mobile app to support the DNPAO National Training. The Guidebook support app contains all of the information you'll need to successfully navigate the National Training and will help you make the most of your time in Atlanta. You must download and log in to Guidebook to enrich your training with networking options and join the attendee list. The app will be the easiest way to view the final agenda, as a printed agenda will not be provided. Additionally, we'll use the app to communicate relevant information to you throughout the training.

How to Download

As a registrant of the DNPAO National Training, you'll receive an invitation to download Guidebook later today. The invitation will include login credentials. If you don't receive an invitation, please contact Maddie Pogue at maddie@asphn.org for assistance.

Using The Guidebook Support App

We've created a video to guide you through Guidebook’s various features. This video is about 5 minutes in length and is also accessible within the app for additional reference. We recommend watching the entire video at least once before diving into the app. You can then use the video's chapters to reference specific sections when you have questions.

Step 2: Set Yourself Up for Success on Guidebook

Create A Virtual Business Card For Quick and Easy Networking

Logging in and setting up your virtual business card within Guidebook will ensure you're able to quickly and easily share contact information with others at the training. You can also begin networking before arrival using the Connect attendee list feature and the Interact feature to schedule meetups during Office Hours or group meals.*

Personalize Your Schedule

Check your DNPAO National Training registration summary to see the strategy tracks you selected. Given the content and design of the strategy tracks are sequential, please plan to remain with your strategy track through its completion.

HOW TO PERSONALIZE YOUR SCHEDULE

NOTE: If you're attending the evaluation track, please bring the document “Expanding tables: Strengthening health through community engagement” in electronic or paper format, available on the DNPAO AMP Evaluation resources section.

Review Dining and Wellness Options

In Guidebook we’ve also included information about physical activity opportunities under Health & Wellness, dining suggestions* under Nearby Dining, and local pharmacies and hospitals under Safety & Emergency. Be sure to review these features while planning your time in Atlanta and use Guidebook to connect with other attendees while you plan!

Sign-Up For Evening Experiences and Cancel the Sign-Ups You Can No Longer Attend

A few spaces are still available for the evening experiences — sign-up for these in Guidebook's Sign-Ups feature. Please note there is no longer a cost associated with the Monday night built environment experience. If you cannot attend an evening experience or spokesperson training that you signed up for, email maddie@asphn.org so that we may open the spot for someone else.

Step 3: Finalize Your Travel Plans to and From the DNPAO National Training

The Westin Peachtree Plaza check-in time is 4 PM and check-out is 11 AM. In Guidebook, we’ve provided the information you'll need to fly in and out of Atlanta, such as navigating the Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport and MARTA public transportation system, approximate costs for transport to and from the hotel, and recommendations for when to arrive at the airport ahead of your flight home.

Driving into Atlanta instead? We have the hotel address for GPS and information about parking in Guidebook as well.

Step 4: Pack Your Essentials for Comfort and Efficiency

Check the weather Forecast for the Atlanta area in Guidebook when packing your bag. The recommended attire for the DNPAO National Training is business casual. Please remember that meals and beverages (except water) are not provided during this training. Some packing checklist items we recommend including are:

  • Comfortable business casual clothing
  • Comfortable shoes
  • Sweater or light jacket
  • Umbrella
  • Reusable water bottle and/or travel mug
  • Snacks*
  • Medicine and toiletries
  • Electronics and charging cables
  • Portable charger or power bank for your phone and other devices**
  • Notepad/paper and pen/pencil (if your preferred way to take notes is typing; there’s a virtual notepad located in Guidebook)

You will need to use Guidebook to reference the agenda, sessions details, and the hotel maps. Print anything you might want to have a hard copy of before you depart for the training.

Step 5: Check In at the ASPHN Registration Desk Upon Arrival

Once you arrive at the hotel, we suggest coming by the ASPHN Registration Desk as soon as possible to pick up your badge and lanyard. Your badge is required for entry into sessions. If you need assistance downloading Guidebook, ask here.

Are you Nursing?

Be sure to let us know if you require lactation accommodations when you check-in. We have a private breastfeeding lounge to accommodate pumping and milk storage during each day of training. A sign-up form will be available at the registration desk. Milk will need to be removed from this space at the end of the day. If you are staying in the hotel, please contact Stephanie Halfmann at stephanie@asphn.org as soon as possible so she can arrange for proper refrigeration in your guest room. The standard room refrigerator does not reach temperatures cold enough to prevent spoilage.

See you soon in Atlanta!

* No food and beverages except water will be served during the training. Feel free to bring snacks and be prepared to purchase meals. Guidebook contains a list of suggested restaurants.

** While there will be access to charging stations during the training, access will be limited. We recommend bringing your own portable charger or power bank to prevent your electronic devices’ batteries from depleting.
