A Call To Action - teaching democracy with music

Do you like music videos?  Have you ever wanted to create one?  Is it time for your students to do something creative? If so, this competition is for YOU.

A heads up that in Term 4 MoAD Learning will be accepting submissions of original music videos for our song titled  A Call to Action , which is all about Democracy.  You may wish to create the video as a class project, or with a few friends.  We want you to tell us what Democracy means to you, and to do so in a creative way.

HansART - Interpreting Hansard Records

Hansard is the official written record of debates from parliament including the House of Representatives,Senate, Main Committee and Parliamentary Committees.

This resource seeks to familiarise students with the format, style and content of Hansard records in a fun, creative and interactive way, before drawing on an inquiry approach to support students’ own exploration of Hansard

You'll find everything you need to start your class exploring Hansard right here.

Making a Zine - Have your voice heard!

What social issues are your student’s passionate about?  How can their views be heard?  Why not have them harness their creativity by making a Zine (pronounced zeen), a handmade self-published magazine, which can then be shared with others.  Allow students to have their voices heard and help them develop the skills to be active citizens who can go on to create positive change.

Check out the video and downloadable zine-making resources here!
