Pro-Active Planning for a Possible Dry 2015

The western U.S. is experiencing another dry year, coupled with a series of dry years since 2000 that included the driest year of record in 2002.  Current snowpack in southwestern Colorado is 38% of the median per the USDA/NRCS National Water and Climate Center (Apr 24, 2015 chart), with precipitation for southwest Colorado also showing below normal in the range of 53-64% (Apr 13, 2015 chart).

In a pro-active measure, the Town of Mountain Village has initiated a water conservation program effective May 1, 2015.  Please refer to the Town’s website for the detailed water conservation program schedule [http://townofmountainvillage.com/index.aspx?NID=226].
