Final week of consultation on Te Kaha Multi-Use Arena Project

Our consultation on whether we should provide extra funding for the Te Kaha multi-use arena project is entering its final stages, with only a week left before the submission period closes.

Thank you to all of you who have already made a submission.

If you have yet to put a submission in, please make sure you do so by  Tuesday 5 July. You can access the submission form by clicking the button below.

It would be great if you could also remind the people in your networks that the deadline for submissions is approaching. We want to hear from a broad cross-section of the community, as the feedback we get will help to inform the Council’s decision-making.

To date, we have received 22,800 submissions, which is the biggest response the Council has had to a consultation since we ran the Share an Idea campaign in 2012. It shows there are strongly-held views in the community about this project.

Given the volume of submissions we have received, it will take some time to analyse them, so we will not be in a position to release the findings of the consultation until shortly before the Council’s decision-making meeting on  14 July 2022.

We will let you know the findings of the consultation as soon as we are in a position to do so.

Thank you
