Held at the start of Term 1 each year, Healthy Lunchbox Week is a Nutrition Australia initiative that helps families access credible lunchbox nutrition information and recipes, setting them up for the year ahead. This year's campaign will run from the 6th - 12th February. Around one third of children’s daily food intake comes from the lunchbox so it’s important we make it count. Use this time to build your bank of lunchbox inspiration and know-how with Nutrition Australia’s healthy lunchbox information and recipes. Nutrition Australia have teamed up with other health-focused organisations to share our collective lunchbox resources, making the Healthy Lunchbox Week website a hub for all the latest lunchbox info and will remain your source of inspiration throughout the year. Recipe IdeaBring Back The Sandwich Each year, the Grains & Legumes Nutrition Council (GLNC) launch their Bring Back the Sandwich campaign, which promotes the benefits of bread as well as making packing lunchboxes easy and breathing new life into lunchboxes and the humble sandwich, for both kids and adults alike. Bread has long been a staple of most Australian diets and it's easy to see why! Grain foods like whole grain or wholemeal bread contain B-group vitamins, folate, thiamine, zinc, vitamin E, fibre and antioxidants. Whether you’re working from home or in the office, GLNC has got a delicious selection of sandwiches for your lunchbox! Often underrated, the humble sandwich is a great lunch option. Queensland Healthy Kids Menu Healthy Kids Menu is an innovative healthy eating initiative from Health and Wellbeing Queensland (HWQld) designed to improve the availability and promotion of healthier food and drink on kid’s menus at cafes, restaurants, hotels, and clubs. The initiative outlines a set of nutritional guidelines to help venues make healthy food and drink options more readily available to children. We are now offering Food Safety Supervisor recertification training! Our recertification course is a condensed refresher course (3 hours) and is for those staff who already hold the Food Safety Supervisor qualification (for the vulnerable populations units of competency) and who are wanting to update their skills and knowledge. Upon successful completion of the training, students will receive a Statement of Attainment with the units of competency HLTFSE001, HLTFSE005, HLTFSE007.
