Spring-time means that the annual small grants & scholarships for Limestone Coast communities are NOW OPEN.

GRANTS - Organisations are invited to apply for grants of up to $5000 for charitable projects. Application forms and further information is available from our website http://www.standlikestone.com.au/page.php?id=5  Applications close at 5.00pm on 30th September and can be lodged via email, post or in person at Stand Like Stone, 324 Commercial Street West, Mt Gambier. 

SCHOLARSHIPS - We are also receiving scholarship applications for students with a connection to the Limestone Coast for study to be undertaken in 2020. Scholarships are available for recognised pre-school, primary, secondary or tertiary courses and are awarded on merit or for reasons of equity. Applications close at 5.00pm on 31st October. Stand Like Stone opened its annual Scholarship Program on 15th August with two new perpetual scholarships valued at $10,000 each announced for students with a connection to the Wattle Range Council area.

A private donation has enabled the creation of the Rackhams Educational Scholarships. The Rackhams scholarships are provided for reasons of equity or merit to benefit secondary or tertiary students with a connection to the Wattle Range Council area. Two scholarships valued at $10,000 each will be provided annually, with the inaugural scholarships being offered this year for study to be undertaken in 2020.

“It is very exciting to announce these new perpetual scholarships. The Rackhams Scholarships are the largest scholarships that Stand Like Stone has on offer and a scholarship of this monetary value has the ability to make a real and meaningful difference in a person’s education. It is humbling to be able to offer scholarships of this value within our region and we are grateful to the donor who has made this possible. We thank them for their generosity and their vision to assist local people to achieve their educational dreams,” said Bill DeGaris, Chair.

Thanks to the generous bequest of the late Lorry Humphreys, the Lorry Humphreys’ Arts Scholarship and the “Lorry Humphreys’ Trades Scholarship were announced in December last year. These perpetual scholarships are valued at $5000 each and will be awarded to students undertaking study in the Arts or the Trades in 2020.

We are proud to be the nominated charity to receive the gold coin donations received at the entrance to Lucindale One Night Stand 2019. We are looking forward to putting these funds to work in the Limestone Coast community by supporting the Lucindale Community Swimming Pool & enabling scholarships for young people to participate in the Limestone Coast Leadership Program!

"GOLD COIN DONATION
- triple j is proud to be collecting gold coin donations at the entrance to this year’s One Night Stand for local charity, Stand Like Stone Foundation. It serves the Limestone Coast, offering grants to facilitate projects benefitting the area socially and financially, and educational scholarships to students with a connection to the area.
- In the Lucindale community your dollars will go towards two projects: 50% towards helping to replace Lucindale Area Community Swimming Pool and 50% will fund scholarships for young people to participate in the Limestone Coast Leadership Program."

There's been a lot of water under the bridge since June, but we still hold warm memories of an incredible Swinging with the Stars. The night was a sellout with a group of incredible Stars showcasing their new moves. Thank you to Kim Cella & Paris Ackland of Hype Dance and to our eight incredible Stars and their partners - what a night it was, with nearly $100K raised for our region!

Stand Like Stone's AGM will be held at 4.30pm on Wednesday 6th November at Caffe Belgiorno, 7 Percy Street, Mount Gambier. All individuals who are interested in the activities of Stand Like Stone are welcome to attend.
