News from the College of Business, Government & LawWe acknowledge the traditional owners, both past and present, of the various locations Flinders University operates on, and recognise their continued relationship and responsibility to these lands and waters. We recognise that Flinders was established on the lands of the Kaurna nation, with the main Flinders campus located near Warriparinga Welcome to the July edition of the College newsletter for 2025. Our July newsletter features reflections on the sticky campus from Masaba Adneen; eight new articles in top journals; and jam-packed updates from JBC and CSI. Looking through the journal articles, I see that that two of the articles are about the business of climate change. Following my attendance at an all-of University Masterclass on Climate Change Policy – including outstanding contributions from Sarah Wheeler and Brendan Grigg – they alert me to our extensive expertise in this area. It is always great to read the newsletter and discover something that I did not know about BGL. Happy discovery! Michael Professor Michael Gilding Feature Story
From strategy to culture: the evolution of sticky campus Sticky campus is not a place; it’s an environment where students—whether studying online or on campus—come together, engage meaningfully, and remain connected throughout their learning journey. As described by Masaba Adneen, this concept reflects a shift from strategy to culture. In BGL, this vision resonates deeply with our commitment to student engagement, belonging, and success. July SpotlightsResearcher Spotlight: She’s a passionate Port Adelaide supporter, a true crime doco enthusiast, and a weekend taxi driver for her kids’ sporting commitments, but by day, she’s helping shape national responses to homelessness.
Professional Spotlight: When she’s not supporting future leaders through executive education, you’ll find her hiking through national parks, chasing playgrounds in the Adelaide Hills... or baking Taylor Swift and Spiderman-themed cakes. Research
