An excellent business opportunity has arisen for providers of general practitioner services to take up a long-established and well-managed medical practice in Wagin. The Wagin Medical Practice is ideally suited for a single/duo/small group of GPs.

Based in modern rooms in the centre of town, the premises are owned by the Shire of Wagin and made available at a peppercorn rental. The Shire will also make available a modern 4x2 executive residence for use by a medical practitioner plus a vehicle for unlimited business and private use.

Mindful Self Webinar 

The Rural Doctors' Association of Western Australia and Mindful Meditation Australia have teamed up to bring rural doctors this introduction to mindfulness, on Monday 25 July 2022 at 6.30pm.

This introductory session will go over the basic neuroscience of mindfulness and meditation practices, as well as inspire ways to engage, and deal with, workplace pressure through mindfulness and meditation tools for managing the self in work environments. Register here for the webinar.

Dying to Know Day - Bunbury

Dying to Know Day is an annual campaign from 6 - 8 August 2022 that brings to life conversations and community action around death, dying and bereavement. The campaign aims to support Australians to improve their death literacy and progress end-of-life planning through local and community events.

Local events in Bunbury include:

• Tours of Bunbury Crematorium, Memorial Gardens and William Barrett & Sons Care Centre;
• Death Cafe "Dying for a Cuppa";
• Presentation by Professor Samar Aoun, Chairperson, South West Compassionate Communities Network on improving social connectedness in our community;
• Community discussion on compassion; and
• Support after suicide seminar.

The two day course will be facilitated by a team of experienced emergency physicians with extensive pre course materials including a USB of the course skills and drills being provided to each participant prior to attending. The REACT+ course includes medical emergencies, major trauma and cardiac arrest in children and adults as well as associated lifesaving procedural skills training. It is highly interactive and participants are predominantly involved in emergency skills stations and simulated scenarios.

Open to all Medical Practitioners. Priority of places will be offered to WA rural placed GP VMP's and locums.

The Aboriginal Health Conference 2022 will focus on healing from the past and strengthening the future. It will provide an opportunity to come together and learn from those who came before us, and reflect on how we can move through the challenges faced over the last two years in terms of the COVID-19 pandemic. By learning from the past, we can strengthen our future.

The Aboriginal Health Conference is open to:

It is a 6-week innovative social and emotional learning program focused on helping children put together a collection of anxiety management skills and coping strategies that will build their confidence and self-mastery to improve and strengthen the emotional structure of their lives.
