No images? Click here Exciting Centre Update!Today we celebrated Australia's first JDRF Global Centre of Excellence, now part of the Children's Diabetes Centre at the Perth Children's Hospital. The event was a Virtual Launch to share our vision of the Centre which is to help children and families living with diabetes live longer and healthier lives. The Rio Tinto Diabetes Research Centre - A JDRF Global Centre of Excellence is the only pediatric JDRF Global Centre of Excellence in the world with collaborators representing every state in Australia as well as world-leading institutions in the USA, Canada, Sweden, New Zealand and Scotland. Crippa's Fun Footy ClinicDiabetes Research Western Australia invites children aged 6-16 living with type 1 and type 2 diabetes to join West Coast Eagles champion Jamie Cripps for a fun-filled footy clinic. Join Jamie and his footy friends from the West Coast Eagles male and female teams on Wednesday 16th February from 4.30pm for a kick and to learn some new skills while having fun. The clinic will run for 3 hours and will include a take-home goodie bag, a delicious healthy BBQ, a tour of the West Coast Eagles Facility at Mineral Resources Park, and a few more surprises... We are looking for adolescents aged 14-17 years with type 1 diabetes and parents of adolescents to give us some insight into their experiences around physical activity so that we can develop a physical activity program. New Study!We are looking for young Australians aged 14-17 years with type 1 diabetes to take part in a study of a self-compassion program delivered via zoom. The study involves weekly sessions (1.5 hours per week) for 8 weeks. To be eligible you will need to be diagnosed with T1D and using continuous glucose monitoring.
