Conservation land trusts bring together Oregonians of different backgrounds and political views to protect the lands and waters that define and sustain us. With support from Oregon Community Foundation, these bridge-building nonprofits are now poised to accelerate conservation in rural and urban communities — helping people, fish and wildlife and the landscapes they share meet today’s challenges and those to come. Discover how they do it.

Honoring Black Education Pioneers

This summer, OCF’s Black Student Success program honored 13 visionary Black education leaders for their legacies in schools, the communities they serve and in the lives of the many students they inspired. Some honorees led sweeping institutional change. Others built community organizations from the ground up. Read their stories and watch a video recap.

Dr. Ernest Hartzog was one of 13 Black education pioneers to be honored by OCF.

Gratitude’s Many Happy Returns

Mary Fay says she appreciates the administrative ease of her Donor Advised Fund at OCF as an umbrella to support causes and nonprofits she cares about. But she’s most grateful for the hugs, remembering how a nonprofit client asked if she could embrace to say thank you. “Oh, my gosh! Yes!” reflecting “The gratitude that’s come back to me is more valuable than anything I could ask for.” Read more stories from the 2024 Annual Report.
