Academic English for Business Use

Did you know that Academic English is perfect for students who want to develop transferable skills to support future work in business and industry.

Academic English provides a comprehensive course that ensures each student can build and develop confidence to succeed in group activities and presentations for future career progression and use in a business environment.

This course creates a framework of how to use the right vocabulary with complex sentence structures, styles, and formatting.  Improve written and spoken communication skills through class presentations and work on critical thinking and problem-solving skills with tailored support.

The skills developed during the 10-week course will ensure that a student is ready to start or continue their future work life or career in business and industry with confidence, elevating their career path especially with the experience and skills they will develop in teamwork, research and analytical skills and technical literacy.

Conditions of Enrolment 2025

There are some critical changes to the application form and refund policy for Navitas English which are outlined below for your review.

It is vital that the Student Application Form is signed by the student and the privacy sections ticked before a Letter of Offer is issued.   The new Letter of Offer will be updated with a section for the student to review and sign as this forms an acceptance of the Offer. When returned with any outstanding documentation and payment, the student will progress to being enrolled.

The changes in the refund policies are listed below:

  • Less than 4 weeks prior to initial course start date – 60% refund, cancellation fee is 40%.
  • For those on an instalment plan, the cancellation fee is payable if the pre-paid instalment amount is less than the cancellation fee.

On or after the initial course start date (current course)

  • No refund - 100% cancellation.
  • For those on an instalment payment plan, they need to pay the remaining current course fee.

After the initial course start date (students with multiple courses)

Celebrating Polat’s Journey and Success!

Arriving in Perth from Türkiye, Polat commenced his studies at the Perth campus in our General English course. He progressed through the levels to also complete Academic English 3, followed by IELTS Preparation before transitioning to further studies at TAFE WA.

With support from the Perth team, Polat embraced a new lifestyle and reached his goals. We are so proud of his achievements and are delighted to share his story.

Polat shares his journey in Perth, including how he met his lifelong friend, Pizza, at Navitas English!!

Navitas English Student Stats

Currently we have 400 students studying at Navitas English across Perth and Sydney campuses. There has been a marked decline in evening students studying whilst student diversity remains strong, having 35 nationalities studying with us.

As an indication for both campus locations the percentage of diversity is:

Colombia 19%, Japan 14%, Mongolia 16%, Brazil 9.5%, China 3%, Korea 4.5%, Spain 1%, Taiwan 3%, Thailand 6%, Vietnam 3% Turkey 1% and Chile 4%.

General English remains the standout course, followed by IELTS Preparation and Academic English. The number of students studying Cambridge Preparation remains a challenge.

Refer to the Course Level Indicator for update course running at each campus linked here.

Onshore Student Applications

We have noticed a renewed focus when processing student visa applications via Department of Home Affairs onshore. If the student is currently studying onshore, it is vital that they provide evidence of their current study plan, attendance and completion certificate.

Evidence must be provided to ensure that the Department of Home Affairs can access the application based on the student’s progression, attendance and success. Failure to do so may result in an unfavorable outcome i.e. potential visa rejection.

Please read the Agent FAQ which captures a series of notes for your review and support.
