Click here Lifestream Appoints Three to Board of DirectorsLifeStream, Inc., one of the area’s leading human service providers, has named three new members to its Board of Directors.Joining LifeStream’s board are Michael J. Fitzpatrick of Somerset, Massachusetts; Jan A. Baptist of New Bedford, Massachusetts; and Michelle Neves Hantman of Rochester, Massachusetts. Fitzpatrick is the Director of Finance for Community Nurse Home Care in Fairhaven, Massachusetts. He previously served as Chief Financial Officer for Diocesan Health Facilities in Fall River, Massachusetts. Fitzpatrick has a Bachelor of Science degree from Troy State University in Montgomery, Alabama and a Master of Science degree in Health Administration and Management from Salve Regina University in Newport, Rhode Island. He also served in the United States Air Force. Ms. Baptist is a former Director of Disability Services at Bristol Community College in Fall River, Massachusetts. She received a Masters in Education and Integrated Studies from Cambridge College in Boston, Massachusetts and has served as a consultant to Middlesex Community College, the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, Bristol Community College and New Bedford Public Schools. Ms. Baptist serves on the Board of Directors for the Cape Verdean Association and on the Board of Trustees for the Alma Del Mar Charter School, both located in New Bedford. Ms. Hantman has served as the President and Chief Executive Officer for the United Way of Greater New Bedford since 2006. She previously served as the Director of Communication and Development for the New Bedford Global Learning Charter School. Ms. Hantman received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mass Communication from Emerson College in Boston, Massachusetts and a Certificate in Strategic Perspectives in Non-Profit Management from Harvard University. LifeStream was founded in 1976 by a group of concerned parents seeking better care for their adult children with disabilities. Today it is one of the largest employers in New Bedford with 600 employees. It has an operating budget of $27 million which is funded primarily by government agencies at the federal and state levels.
