Do you have a shelter belt? We would love to hear from you.

Shelterbelts are a land management practice that can make an agriculture system more successful through protecting soil, crops and livestock from harsh weather conditions.

Even though they occupy only a small part of your agricultural landscape, its advantages on the ecological and economical perspective are high.

Shelterbelts also have the potential to mitigate climate change by sequestering carbon into the soil through their above and below ground biomass.

Therefore, it makes sense to consider shelterbelts within farm management plans.

The Limestone Coast Landscape Board invites you to complete this survey to help us better understand landholders' experiences of the effects of shelterbelts on soil health and primary production across our region. It will also help us identify knowledge gaps and to guide our future projects, such as trial sites and workshops.

Please head to our website to complete the survey.

Fox bounty program

The South Australian fox bounty program supports primary producers by providing $10 per fox that is humanely killed on their land.

It is a way to increase productivity of the agricultural sector through enhanced fox control in drought-affected areas. The program complements existing coordinated fox control programs run by regional landscape boards, such as 1080 baiting.

The fox bounty is funded by the State Government's Drought Support Program.

To find out more about this program or to see the Limestone Coast collection dates head to the PIRSA website.
