HTSA Flagship Program

CHAP are pleased to be one of the Health Translation SA (HTSA) Flagship Projects. As part of this role, we were recently consulted to contribute to the development of a training course focussed on key aspects of research translation that will build research translation skills of individuals and teams. 

 
 
 

Introducing Clayton Bester

We would like to introduce you to Clayton Bester, the Consumer Representative on our Governance Committee and broadcaster / producer for Flow FM (broadcasting to regional SA, VIC & NSW). PRESENTATIONS

20 - 21 July 2022 | TAAHC Women's Health Forum | Cairns & Online
Dr Alline Beleigoli presented her protocol on Cardiac Rehabilitation Especially for Women (CREW) "a person-centred co-designed model of care embedded within an existing web-based cardiac rehabilitation program to improve attendance and clinical outcomes for Australian women with CVD living in rural and remote areas" as part of the Tropical Australian Academic Health Centre (TAAHC) Women's Health Forum on 21 July on behalf of the CREW Team.

 

21 - 25 July 2022 | International Nursing Research Congress | Edinburgh, Scotland 
Congratulations Prof Jeroen Hendriks who received his award whilst being inducted into the Sigma International Nurse Researcher Hall of Fame in Scotland at the end of July. Prof Hendriks also presented on 'integrated care for patients with atrial fibrillation and cardiovascular conditions' at the Congress.

 

UPCOMING CPD SESSION

Our monthly Continuing Professional Development (CPD) sessions are now open to anyone with an interest in cardiac rehabilitation (CR) to be involved. Previously these sessions were only advertised to CR services working in rural and remote South Australia to participate. For a list of upcoming sessions for the remainder of the year and recording of previous sessions, please visit our website.

Gold Coast
Dr Joyce Ramos will provide an oral presentation on "Inter-individual responses to a change in heart-rate variability triangular-index following different exercise volumes in people with metabolic syndrome: a randomised study".

 

Our PhD candidate Ms Katie Nesbitt will also be presenting a poster at ACRA 2022 on "development and implementation of a co-designed, web based cardiac rehabilitation program for cardiac patients living in rural and remote areas" and Dr Carolyn Astley will be presenting a poster on "assessing the quality of cardiac rehabilitation programs by measuring adherence to the Australian quality indicators". Prof Robyn Clark and Prof Jeroen Hendriks will also be attending.

Gold Coast
Ms Katie Nesbitt will provide an oral presentation for the Cardiovascular Nursing Prize Finalist session on "evaluating the usability of a co-designed interactive web application for cardiac rehabilitation". Prof Jeroen Hendriks will chair and present in the pre-conference workshop.

Adelaide
Dr Norma Bulamu will be hosting a stand at the Rural Doctors Association of SA (RDASA) event and presenting on "the value proposition for primary care to implement hybrid models of cardiac rehabilitation".
