Rural Health West is offering one-off grants of up to $3,000 to newly qualified allied health professionals who are required to make supervision or mentoring payments towards a mentor or supervisor. The grants are available for those working in rural locations in the following professions: • Occupational therapy Successful grant recipients will receive up to $3000, or six months of supervision payments. The grant can be made as a reimbursement of payments you have already made or can be put towards future payments. You must be working in a MMM 3-7 location in Western Australia to be eligible. Applications close 6pm Sunday 12 June 2022. Applicants will be notified about the outcome of their application by Thursday 16 June 2022. Each year, Rural Health West provides a range of workforce support services to rural WA health organisations. Note: this survey does not include general medical practices or hospitals. ![]() Expressions of interest - John Flynn Prevocational Doctor Program primary care rotationsThe Australian Government has announced the implementation of the new John Flynn Prevocational Doctor Program to help deliver increased rural primary care rotations for eligible junior doctors from clinical year 2024 onwards. The Rural Generalist Pathway WA Coordination Unit will be administering these new rotations and invites eligible primary care providers in MM 2-7 locations to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI). Rural Health West has a limited number of $500 grants available to support your practice get back on its feet. If your workforce has been adversely affected by the increasing number of COVID-19 cases in WA, please contact Rural Health West to see if you are eligible for a grant. Rural Emergency Medicine Forum 2022 - registrations now open Registrations for the Rural Health West CPD: Rural Emergency Medicine Forum 2022 are now open! Date: Saturday 6 August and Sunday 7 August 2022 This forum is part of the WA Country Health Service and Rural Health West Resident Specialist Procedural GP Education Series. The event will include a mix of lectures, problem based discussions, simulation and skills stations happening concurrently over the weekend. It will also be an opportunity to catch up with friends and colleagues. This forum is pending accreditation with RACGP and ACRRM. Pre-Forum Workshop: Rural Emergency Advanced Clinical Training (REACT+) This forum is open to all currently practicing Emergency Doctors, FACEM's and Medical Practitioners. The forum has limited places. Travel subsidies will apply for eligible delegates living and working in rural and remote WA.
