Arts Newsletter February - March
Hello Everyone,
I’m sure, like me, you have been totally shocked with the news of the Christchurch earthquake and the images on television. It’s hard to believe that the beautiful garden city is the site of such a terrible scene. It's so very sad. Of course our thoughts and hearts go out to the victims and the survivors. I’ve had three Christchurch friends staying with me who have escaped their city and are like lost souls. No job to go back to as yet because the CBD is where they work. It's worrying to see people in this situation and makes you feel helpless.
On a lighter note, remember the wealth of things to see and do in Central Otago. Tami Neilson joins forces again with Lauren Thomson to entertain you at ‘The Shed’, Northburn Station, tonight at 8pm and Maniototo's annual Art Exhibition as part of the fabulous ‘Ranfurly Art Deco Festival’ at the weekend. That’s not all, I hope you have your tickets to see Brooke Fraser along with Opshop and Midnight Youth who will be performing at Olssen’s Garden Vineyard in Bannockburn on Tuesday March 1 as part of the More FM's 2011 Winery Tour.
There is plenty coming up to do, have a look at all that is on offer listed for you below. Regards, Maxine Williams
CODAT Coordinator
Jason Kerrison (Opshop), Brooke Fraser and Jeremy Redmore (Midnight Youth)
