Spotlight on Seniors -- June!June June was living outside until very recently. Her owner had to move and the new owner wanted all of the cats removed from the premises. Rescuers stepped in and tried to coax June away from the home to a new feeding station but June kept running back home. When we heard of June's plight, we reached out to Tender Loving Cats to see if we could help June. She is as sweet as can be, just had dental surgery and is ready to make someone very happy. June is also available through our Seniors for Seniors program where we will continue to cover her reasonable future medical care for any approved senior citizen who June decides to adopt. To see more about June, please visit her page on our website >> Phoenix is halfway there . . . Phoenix was rescued from Animal Care Centers. Shortly after we rescued her, we noticed that her gait was abnormal so we sent her for diagnostics which revealed a problem with her hips. She then went for a consult and ultimately hip surgery at Animal Surgical Center. During her consult, radiographs were repeated and the surgeons discovered that it wasn't just her left hip that was out of alignment, but the right one was as well. Phoenix had surgery on the left hip and is recovering well. She had her recheck last week and the surgeons were pleased with her range of motion and she's back in the Rec Room. In a month or so, she'll go back and have surgery on her right hip. Thank you to all who have donated thus far to help her. As this second hip was unexpected, any donation would be greatly appreciated! Meet Periwinkle!
Periwinkle just arrived last week from Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter. He was found as a stray and needed emergency enucleation of his right eye. His left eye wasn't much better and we were worried that we might not be able to save it. We started aggressive treatment are happy to say that apart from some scarring on the eye, we were able to save vision his vision. Despite all he's been through at such a young age, he is one of the most endearing little beings on the planet. Follow the link to see a melt-your-heart video of him >> Happy Birthday Miss Moppet!!
Our favorite receptionist, Miss Moppet celebrated her 18th Birthday on July 8th with all of her favorite things: Churu, Temptations, Fancy Feast Savory Centers and catnip. When asked what attributed to her longevity, she replied "I did it my way." Yup and she still does. Moppy said she's still accepting gifts and if you would like to celebrate her birthday - she's picked out a few thousand things she likes at Chewy. |
