Item 1: Accessing my data through the Qlik reports

The mandatory January 2022 nKPI reporting round is complete and your nKPI data is now available for you in the Qlik Interactive Reports and Published Reports via the Health Data Portal (HDP).

The data in the Interactive Reports is available continuously and the latest nKPI data is now included in the national comparison data in your reports.

Through the Published Reports your service's nKPI Summary Report (PowerPoint) and nKPI Executive Summary Report (Excel) are available. These reports are regenerated each week. A step by step guide to accessing your Published Reports is available through the User Support link.

If you do not have the Published Report Viewer or Interactive Reports Viewer role, please reach out to your organisation's HDP User Administrator, or send an email request to indigenousreporting@health.gov.au.

Item 2: nKPI, OSR and HCP reporting 1 July 2022 to 15 August 2022

The next reporting round for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander National Key Performance Indicators (nKPI), Online Services Report (OSR), and the Health Care Provider (HCP) number reports will open on 1 July 2022 and will close on 15 August 2022. This will once again be a mandatory reporting round.

To assist with the FTE workforce section of your OSR report, you can download the Workforce Profile spreadsheet from the HDP before reporting opens. The Workforce Profile spreadsheet comes pre-populated with your workforce data from last year's OSR form.

Details on how to download and use the Workforce Profile Spreadsheet are available in a quick reference guide in the User Support section of the HDP.

Item 3: Pilot for PI25: STI Tests to commence 1 July 2022

The new PI25: STI Tests indicator is being developed for implementation into the HDP for piloting to commence 1 July 2022. It will collect data about regular clients aged 15-34 years who were tested for chlamydia and/or gonorrhoea within the previous 12 months.

This new indicator will be pilot tested with services on an opt-out basis for the 1 July 2022 and the 1 January 2023 reporting rounds. If you wish to opt-out, please send an email request to indigenousreporting@health.gov.au.

Data from the pilot will not be publicly reported. It will be analysed to assess if adequate quality data can be collected or if the indicator definition needs refinement for collection of good quality data. The June 2022 e-newsletter will have more information on this pilot.

We want to reassure you that inclusion of this new indicator will not substantially increase reporting burden, as the information required is already collected in your clinical information system and will be automatically extracted.

Item 4: Update to PI18 and PI19 (kidney function tests)

Updates have been made to a range of indicators over the past 3 nKPI reporting rounds. Required updates have been made to indicators PI18 and PI19. The changes were recommended by a clinical and technical working group reporting to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Services Data Advisory Group (HS DAG).

PI19 will be reported for the 1 July 2022 reporting round. The changes to this indicator include a name change and discontinuing reporting in two parts. For both PI18 and PI19 data will now only be collected for regular clients from 18yrs+.

More detailed information about the changes to PI18 and PI19, and the new pilot indicator PI25 is available from the updated nKPI specifications.

Item 5: Clinic site details in the OSR

While many ACCHSs and AMSs deliver clinical services from a single location only, others operate a number of clinical service delivery sites. To better support funding calculations under the Indigenous Australians' Health Programme (IAHP) funding model, the Department is seeking more detailed information about health services’ clinical service delivery sites. Of particular relevance is the situation where clinical sites are more remotely located than main sites, as this may attract a remoteness loading under the funding model.

For the past two OSR collections, you have been asked to confirm or correct the clinical service delivery site information we have for your organisation, and to record the type of site, the days of opening and whether the site offers 24 hour emergency care. For the July 2022 OSR (if relevant) you will also be asked to estimate the split of your total Client Numbers across your delivery sites (noting that this may be an estimate only).

The HDP User Support Team is currently updating health service records in the OSR with the most up-to-date site information available. To make sure this is accurate, you will be receiving an email from indigenousreporting@health.gov.au requesting confirmation of this information before the OSR commences on 1 July 2022.

Item 6: New guide for MyGovID and RAM to prepare for reporting

The HDP User Support team have received feedback on the difficulties services continue to experience with the Australian Taxation Office's myGovID and RAM authentication process.

A quick reference guide (QRG) called IAHP Requirements in preparation for reporting has been created and can be found in the User Support link in the HDP. This QRG will assist you to better understand the steps required to create a personal myGovID and then for the Relationship Authorisation Manager (RAM) to be set up.

Completing the steps included in the QRG is required before a new staff member is able to register for the HDP and submit data for reporting purposes.

Our team gratefully acknowledges the help of AMSANT in compiling this resource.

Item 7: Health Data Portal User Support

New and existing users are always able to request training.

Alternatively, there is a large suite of HDP User Support resources available at the bottom of each of the HDP pages.

You can contact the HDP Support team (Stuart Dunn or Eileen Aguirre) by emailing indigenousreporting@health.gov.au.
