Click here New research shows 1 in 5 youths in Indonesia suffer from mental illnessAt least one in five young people in Indonesia has been diagnosed with mental illness, according to a new research by scientists from Gadjah Mada University, Yogyakarta, Indonesia; the University of Queensland in Australia and Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in the US. The research is expected to be published on Oct. 20. The finding will fill the absence of national data on mental health among Indonesian teenagers On Oct. 9, a day before World Mental Health Day, the public was shocked by the death of a Gadjah Mada University student who allegedly committed suicide by jumping from the 11th floor of a hotel in Yogyakarta.
