A Message from the Principal

This year has been busier than ever before, it has really has flown by, we are now at the half-way point for the summer term.   Soon we will be enrolling for the autumn term.  All the staff, paid and voluntary, have been working incredibly hard to keep the Guild moving forward and I’m very proud of their achievements and the planned curriculum for next year.

The new prospectus will be available from Monday 13th June, and possibly sooner if the printers deliver ahead of schedule (It has happened in previous years).  All activities, courses and clubs, will be open for enrolment online once the prospectus is published.

I hope that you have a thoroughly enjoyable Platinum Jubilee bank holiday weekend; I have my fingers crossed for good weather for everyone’s celebrations.

I look forward to see you at the Guild in June.

With best wishes,

Paula

Dear Guild Art Students/teachers and friends,

Submissions are invited for an Art exhibition to be held at The Guild for Lifelong Learning entitled 'Inspired by Lindow'

As part of the Wilmslow Festival of Nature this September, submissions are invited from professional and amateur creatives over the age of 18 in any medium, including ceramics and poetry which has been inspired by Lindow Moss.

Details are available from the organiser, Laureen Roberts: laureen.roberts01@gmail.com

Lindow has a remarkable story to tell with 6,000 -year-old fossil pine trees, Iron Age bog bodies, a Crimean War rifle range and the history of peat cutting itself. There are also beautiful surrounding woodlands and farmland.

Covid-19 Community Response and Recovery Grants.

The Guild was thrilled to receive a grant from Cheshire East funded to deliver our long-term route to employment project for adults with learning disabilities

During 2021/2022 Cheshire East Council have relied on grants to ensure they can support the VCFSE sector. This enabled an environment where we can work together to meet the needs of our communities through extremely challenging times and at speed.

We want to build on the last two rounds of grant funding and the amazing response to the objectives we set, by giving the opportunity for our VCFSE sector organisations to
showcase their services and demonstrate the real differences that they make to our residents.

We want to enhance relationships and connectivity between organisations and create the opportunities for collaborative working, making sure that together we meet the needs of our residents by delivering services that they need and also ensuring that they are more accessible.

Welcome to your guide to our recently funded Voluntary, Community, Faith and Social Enterprise (VCFSE) sector in Cheshire East.

The overarching aim of the Plan is to ensure that services are commissioned and developed in a way that will help our residents to feel valued, happy and healthy.

The plan describes the fundamental things our communities need to live their best life and was entirely co-produced by residents of Cheshire East in partnership with Cheshire East Live Well for Longer Joint Commissioning Group.
