The artwork has been developed specifically for the site by Ngāti Wheke artist Caine Tauwhare and represents an important link for the past and future. Work started on site this week and will take approximately 3 weeks to complete. The works includes surface cleaning, painting and curing. The site will be reopened in mid-December with seats, planters and fishing pole holders. Godley Quay works underway Planned improvements to Godley Quay are underway. The works will see a full upgrade of the road, including resurfacing, lighting, utility upgrades and the construction of a shared pedestrian and bicycle path on the western side of the road. This work will improve safety and accessibility for users of the area, and is planned to be completed before the Sail Grand Pix event in March 2023.
