NEW: Implementation Checklist for Communities

The CIF has published the first version of its "Implementation Checklist for Communities". The document can be found on the CIF Transition Portal.

The purpose of this document is to provide a checklist that staff can use to identify who will be impacted, in what ways, and the policies, procedures or promotions that need to be developed to ensure a smooth transition. There are many internal and external stakeholders that will need to be consulted and considered in regards to transition.

The figure below illustrates the web of relationships that might be relevant to your community’s transition.

Transition Implementation Stakeholder Checklist

Each community is in a unique situation. The intent of this document is not to provide the answers, but to ask the right questions, and where possible, provide best practices, samples, templates and case studies to help staff find the answers right for them. In short, the goal is to ensure each local community’s transition plan does not miss any key considerations.

As many communities approach transition in the coming months, the Implementation Checklist will be updated with lessons learned from across the Province. If you have any stories, examples, documents, etc., that you think other communities could benefit from, please send them to Alyssa Broadfoot, lead consultant on this project.

We will publish updated versions of the Implementation Checklist as appropriate.

Thank you to everyone that provided input!
