Winter is on its way with Whistler Blackcomb opening for the 2023/24 winter season on November 23, 2023. Don't forget early booking offers end on November 15, 2023.

What's New & Happening

New: Wedge Mountain Lodge and Spa Opening

New luxurious, fully serviced private retreat Wedge Mountain Lodge & Spa is opening this fall in Whistler. The 12,000-square-foot lodge was thoughtfully crafted to fully accommodate a diverse range of groups from corporate retreats and weddings to intergenerational family getaways and intimate gatherings. Wedge Mountain Lodge boasts 10 meticulously appointed bedrooms to accommodate 20 guests and up to 50 for a reception, also offers a private spa facility with a sauna, steam room, gym, massage rooms, hot tubs, refreshing pools and more. The Lodge also offers a conference room, a state-of-the-art movie theatre, an impeccably curated wine cellar, poker and billiards room, a bar, and a dedicated children’s area. New: TAG Park Day Pass

The Adventure Group's new feature product, the General Summer Park Pass allows guests unlimited adventures, all day long, with just one pass for $189! Experience all-day access to Aerial Obstacle Courses, Superfly Ziplines, and RZR Tours. The pass also includes access to Vallea Lumina after dark. Experience the Summer Twilight Park Pass from 4:30 PM until late into the evening. Enjoy one daytime activity and Vallea Lumina for $119. Available until October 31.

New AlpX Hidden Peak Heli Biking Expert Trail

New for this year, AlpX Expeditions introduce the AlpX Hidden Peak Heli Biking Expert Trail. Riders are flown to the high alpine in a remote area between Whistler and Pemberton. With options for both Advanced and Expert skill levels and a mix of technical and flow trail sections, there is a wide variety for all riders to experience some of Whistler’s best biking. The Heli Biking product will run until the end of Thanksgiving weekend and offers riders the choice of their Intermediate Blue Trail or their Expert black trail. alpx.ca


New RV Park & Campground Open at Whistler Olympic Park

Whistler Olympic Park RV & Campground opened this summer in the heart of the Callaghan Valley, south of Whistler. This new camping destination surrounded by forests and mountain views offers spacious full-service and unserviced sites to call home during a visit to the Sea to Sky, open through until October 2, 2023. whistlersportlegacies.com


Nita Lake Lodge Suite Refubishment

Mekong Thai Restaurant Now Open

New restaurant, Mekong, is now open, offering fine Thai cuisine in Whistler's Creekside Village. The restaurant aims to inspire with its deep honouring of Thai culinary traditions, and its modern imagination. The menu has been designed by award-winning Chef Angus An, and led by Thai-born Chef Bonnie Khummuang, who has spent years cooking alongside and working for Chef An. Bar Oso Reopened

Whistler’s Spanish-inspired tapas bar, Bar Oso, recently celebrated its much-anticipated reopening after being closed for 1.5 years for an extensive renovation and expansion. The space now offers twice the size with an updated look featuring a stunning U-shaped onyx bar. The restaurant will continue to offer Spanish-inspired small plates, tapas and charcuterie alongside signature hand-crafted cocktails and an expanded wine list focused on Spanish and top-tier BC wines. Wild Blue Alpine Long Table Dinner

This special al fresco feast gives guests the opportunity to savour the beautiful sights and sounds while enjoying an exclusive Wild Blue curated long table dining experience featuring the best of the harvest season. Useful Apps

New Indigenous Self-Guided Tour Available

Go Whistler Tours is a free app of informative self-guided tours. Enjoy DIY exploration of various routes and points of interest and discover a new side of Whistler.

"Art & Storytelling of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh and Líl̓wat7úl" is now available on the Go Whistler Self-Guided Tours App. The new, free tour leads visitors to nine locations that are culturally significant to Squamish Nation and Lil'wat Nation, sharing stories connected to the locations, voiced by Cultural Ambassadors from both Nations. The tour was created as a collaboration between the Squamish Lil'wat Cultural Centre and Tourism Whistler.

Other sample tours include:

  • Weird and Wonderful Trees – a short, two-kilometre wander around Whistler Village to visit some of our oldest residents
  • Whistler’s Cultural Connector – follow a pathway that leads you between six cultural institutions and uncover the stories that enrich Whistler’s culture
  • Craft Beer – get your suds on with a tour de beer around Whistler
  • Sweet Treats – a tour of some of Whistler’s best places to pick up a treat. Happy sugar rush!
  • Lost Lake Nature Walk – discover more about the species that call Whistler home and how all things in nature, including us, are interconnected

Visit the 100 Years of Unity Exhibition at the SLCC

The Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre (SLCC) invites guests to experience its latest exhibition, 100 Years of Unity, honouring the date that sixteen villages came together as the Squamish Amalgamation on July 23, 1923. The exhibit celebrates the defining time when the Squamish Nation was amalgamated, bringing together sixteen families throughout the territory and strengthening the people through unity. Displaying weaving, carving and historical belongings, the exhibit gives the viewer an overview of the history of the Squamish Nation. The exhibit is on display until October 8, 2023. slcc.com


Audain Art Museum Special Exhibitions

The Audain Art Museum hosts a number of exciting Special Exhibitions each year. Dedicated to presenting a wide range of artists and artistic practices, the Museum’s exhibitions include both historical and contemporary art.

Manabu Ikeda: Flowers from the Wreckage, showing unitl October 9, explores how artist Manabu Ikeda seeks inspiration from his surroundings to bring attention and awe to viewers, as a way of sending warnings about the painful reality of environmental disasters.

Karin Bubaš: Garden of Shadows, showing September 23 - January 29, 2024, will be a mix of old and new work, centered around the tension between the summer and winter season. Monochromatic photographs taken in cold arctic conditions (such as icebergs in Iceland, frozen waterfalls and snow-covered forests) are juxtaposed against the bright hues of summer, with fields of dahlias, sunflowers and rose gardens. audainartmuseum.com
