Advertising healthy food choices to children

The Ad Standards Community Panel has upheld complaints about a fast food voucher awarded at a children’s sporting event for breaching the Quick Service Restaurant Initiative for Responsible Advertising and Marketing to Children (QSRI).

First fashion ad upheld under revised Code on sexual appeal in advertising

Fashion can be fickle but the Ad Standards Community Panel was clear when it upheld the first fashion ad complaint under the revised Section 2.2 of the AANA Code of Ethics (the Code).

An amendment to section 2.2 of the Code, effective from 1 March 2018, advertisers now need to ensure do not use sexual appeal in a manner which is exploitative OR degrading. Other complaints upheld by the Community Panel since the stricter provisions were introduced were about real estate and dental services advertisements. See the Ad Standards blog for more details.
