Updates from Women's Property Initiatives

Update for Renters March 2024

Maintenance and Cleaning

A reminder to please get in touch with our Tenancy & Property team as soon as you need to report any maintenance issues this can be done via email to enquiries@wpi.org.au.

Please DO NOT save it up for your inspections when your problem may be bigger and therefore will be harder and take longer to get fixed.

Also, for urgent after-hours maintenance only call Valley Maintenance on 1800 088 106

Cleaning of balconies

Please don't use buckets of water to clean your balcony.

When cleaning your balcony please consider the following:

  • Ensure that you remove leaves, furniture or other objects that may be covering the drain on the balcony so that there is no water overflow.
  • Use a damp mop with excess water squeezed out.
  • Use microfiber pads to soak up as much water as possible during cleaning or a wet vac.
  • A steam cleaner is a great alternative for some balcony surfaces.
  • Consider placing a tarp or other material around the edge of your balcony to prevent water overflow when cleaning.

Please be considerate of your downstairs neighbours, nobody wants to have water pouring down on them while they are enjoying their outdoor space.

Split System

After the warmer weather please take this opportunity to clean your split system filters so that they are working to the best of their ability. It makes a big difference.

Breach Reminders

Balconies – you may be breached by the owners Corporation if you place washing on clothes horses or hangers on the balcony to dry. Please also make sure you don’t have any items (e.g. plants & other fixtures) hanging from your balcony rails.

Storage Cages – you may also be breached by the owners Corporation if you place items on the floor near or under storage cages, all items are to be placed in the storage cages provided for your apartment.

Parking

Please be mindful of the parking requirements for your complex.

  • Know your allocated parking space.
  • Do not park in someone else’s space under any circumstance.
  • Do not allow guests to park in any other parking spaces other than the allocated visitor parking (if available) otherwise they will need to find street parking or find another alternative.
  • If someone is in your parking space, please report it to the owner’s corporation.
  • Parking spaces are for vehicles ONLY. Residents may not use that space for storage purposes.
