A Community Connected: The 2025-2026 Alumnae Survey Findings

Earlier in the year, we invited alumnae to share their experiences and reflections. Thank you to those of you who participated in the survey! Your input is greatly appreciated and will help to shape our next steps at CHS.

With 317 respondents, the data paints a picture of a school that can be proud of the confidence, character and impact of its alumnae, highlights Crofton House School’s response to the evolving needs of students, and guides future planning for alumnae engagement and connection.

A Sample of Findings to Celebrate

The survey results highlight a powerful blend of what has been a hallmark of CHS for decades and the successful shifts we have made in response to a changing world:

  • The Constant: For generations, CHS has been defined by a lifelong love of learning and a firm foundation of values. This remains unchanged: 87% of all alumnae reported that CHS instilled a lasting intellectual curiosity that stays with them today.
  • Community Engagement: With 317 responses and a 95% confidence level, the survey reflects how much alumnae care about the School’s lasting connections to students, one another, the CHS community, and the School’s future. This serves as a valuable resource to help inform our continued alumnae engagement strategy.
  • Lifelong Connections: An incredible 97% of alumnae made meaningful, lasting friendships here. We remain, above all, a community that builds bonds for life.

A Sample of Where We Are Growing

Authentic growth requires looking honestly at our challenges. The survey identified key areas where we have been and will continue to focus our efforts:

  1. Navigating Post-Secondary Life: A strong majority of respondents told us they felt academically ready for university, but some felt less prepared for the transition to life after secondary school. We are exploring ways to expand and integrate financial literacy and practical life skills into our Senior School curriculum.
  2. Connecting Across Generations: We recognize that keeping alumnae socially connected is vital to every generation. We are pivoting to ensure we offer the industry networking and mentorship younger grads crave, while maintaining the social traditions that our older alumnae cherish.
  3. Shaping the Future of Alumnae Philanthropy: Our survey revealed different generational perspectives on giving. While 53% of senior alumnae have donated previously, 17% said that they intend to give again, underscoring a need for more meaningful stewardship. Conversely, over half of our newest graduates express an intent to give in the future. We are committed to a thoughtful approach to fundraising that ensures all alumnae feel valued regardless of donor status.

This is just the beginning of the conversation. These findings are already influencing our classroom environments, our support systems, and our long-term vision of community engagement that is meaningful for the CHS community.

We are delighted to see in our alumnae responses the significant impact of a girl-centred education. The bonds of friendship formed here sustain our alumnae throughout their lives. The foundational knowledge and skills taught at CHS translate directly into an enduring love of learning and real-world leadership. Our task now is to continue to refine the education we provide, true to our school’s identity: ensuring our students leave us ready with a sense of purpose, resilience, and agency to thrive in a rapidly changing world.
