NEW YEARS 2025
We are looking forward to an exciting year!
Humbled and encouraged by progress in 2024, our work continues in public policy this year.
The goals of our legislative work are 1) increasing awareness of adoption as an option for women facing unplanned pregnancy, and 2) caring for the brave women who choose adoption, and choose parents, for their babies.
The three bills we worked on last year were signed into law in March 2024. Now,
- Idaho schools must include adoption education in their health ed K-12 classes AND in their college medical clinics when talking about contraception or STDs,
- Unlicensed, internet-based facilitators are banned from organizing adoptions, since they don't provide the services the birth mother needs,
- The birth mom's pregnancy expenses can be covered without numerous trips to the judge, which also decreases the costs for the adoptive parents.
We shared these Idaho bills with 70 lawmakers from 38 States at Live Action's Lawmakers Summit in August. Now, three other States plan to introduce our adoption education bill -- California, Oregon and New Hampshire! It's so exciting when other States follow Idaho's lead!
Idaho is becoming known as a leader in adoption law reform! And there's more to come this year.
One lesson we learned is that it just takes one State passing a bill for other States to consider it. That’s why the Idaho legislation is important, as seen Sept. 30 on EWTN TV and in these articles:

Passing adoption law in Idaho was never the end-game. Spreading the ideas to the rest of the country, with Idaho leading the way, could bring about national change.
