SECONDARY ASSISTANCE SCHEME

The Secondary Assistance Scheme (SAS) is a State Government initiative designed to support low-income families with the cost of secondary schooling. In 2026, eligible parents or guardians of students in Years 7–12 at WA private schools can apply for financial assistance through the scheme.

 

The SAS includes two payments: an Education Program Allowance of $235 (paid directly to the school) and a Clothing Allowance of $115 (paid to the parent or guardian). Families receiving the ABSTUDY School Fees Allowance are not eligible for SAS but may apply for the ABSTUDY Supplement Allowance instead.

NEWMAN COLLEGE APP

The Newman College App provides parents with a user-friendly interface to receive college notifications, view the college calendar, read the newsletter, report absences, communicate with staff, and access external links including SEQTA and the Uniform Shop.

Furthermore, the app includes three dedicated co-curricular sections for Sports, the Arts, and Student Growth, where users can find relevant updates and notices for each of these specific areas.
