Signet Breeding News - July 2023

The Signet e-news has undertaken a development and so I need to keep this introduction short! We are hoping that this will allow for easier mobile friendly viewing, and if you have any feedback on this then please let us know.

Over the past couple of months, we have been busy working on a range of exciting projects, from the launch of the new abattoir breeding values within the National Terminal Sire Evaluation as part of the RamCompare project. To the release of genomic breeding values. This is a major first for the UK sheep industry following research lead by Samir Id Lahoucine at SRUC; work was funded as part of the Hybu Cig Cymru (HCC) lead Hill Ram Scheme and has been implemented as part of Farming Connects Welsh Sheep Genetics Programme.

In addition, Sam and I have attended various sales and events around the country which has allowed us to catch up with many of you. And there are plenty more events coming up over the summer, further details can be found below.
