Hi all, Our summer here at the office is over, and in New England, that means the leaves are changing and the days are getting shorter. It also means that our busiest time of the year is upon us, with standards and tradeshow events, our last big releases, and more. Here’s a bit about what we’ve done as we get ready for the last months of the year! Packet Captures in Cloud-Managed Networking and CybersecurityEarlier this year we launched Packet Viewer, the OEM solution that provides embedded web-based packet analysis with a familiar Wireshark-like interface for cloud-managed network and cybersecurity vendors. Since then, we’ve thought a lot about the how and why of looking at packets in these environments and wrote about how these vendors can give and get more value from their customers by offering packet analysis, why it’s so much easier to buy a solution than to build it yourself, and why UX matters to end-users of cloud applications. Brsk the UK ISP and Their Journey to 2Gbps Service Brsk is an “Altnet,” or Alternative Network, ISP operating in the UK. It specializes in full-fiber broadband services primarily for consumers, and is growing rapidly - they have their sights set on 3 million customers in the near future. They have made CDRouter a cornerstone of their procurement and deployment strategy, which has paid off with their recent release of 2Gbps service. We were so glad to be a part of their great work in delivering a fantastic broadband experience. In our podcast episode, you can also catch our interview with Jody Botham, Head of Networks at Brsk. About Security in Home Gateways In a recent survey conducted by the Broadband Forum, service providers resoundingly reported (70%) that the security of their CPE was the most important factor in their decision to purchase and deploy them. Luckily, developers can avoid introducing security flaws into CPE devices by following best practices during development and testing. Here are four essential areas that developers should prioritize to eliminate security vulnerabilities. Making the Transition from TR-069 to USP/TR-369Though TR-069 will be around for many years, USP/TR-369 is the future of device management. As the official test platform for TR-069 and USP certification, CDRouter contains several core test collections that will assist you when developing or deploying devices that use both protocols. Here are the top three things to focus on when testing TR-069 and USP co-existence and transition. Recent data reports that over 80% of service providers worldwide will deploy the User Services Platform (USP/TR-369) in their networks by 2025. Certified USP Agents, guaranteed by the BBF.369 Certification Program, are in high demand and demonstrate that products will work, and work well, in these deployments. In our latest webinar with the BBF and Nokia, learn the value of certification and how to get it using CDRouter! Catch us at prpl Summit and NetworkX in Paris! Our QA Cafe team will be in Paris during the week of October 7th, speaking on important topics and helping operators, developers, and product leaders understand the ins and outs of the latest technologies. Here’s a quick overview of where you’ll find us - and who will be talking about CDRouter.
