December 2021 Celestial Events
The full moon on December 18th (8:35 p.m. PST) will compete with the Geminid and Ursid meteor showers as it waxes and wanes; however, some of the shooting stars from the Geminids may still outshine the moonlight. The Ursids will be most visible a few hours before dawn as the moon will have set by that time. According to EarthSky.org, "The Geminid meteor shower radiates from near the bright stars Castor and Pollux in the constellation Gemini the twins ... The Ursids usually peak around the December solstice, perhaps offering five to 10 meteors per hour during the predawn hours in a dark sky."

... Mercey Hot Springs is a town that's been established for over 100 years and is recognized by Fresno County as a Centennial Community. Although, there's been no need to build an onsite jail, we're always interviewing for an honorary sheriff and mayor. Just kidding! We are looking into having our own zip code assigned, though.
Mercey Hot Springs History
Most of the buildings at Mercey Hot Springs are over 100+ years old and the property was established around the same time as the well-known Casa De Fruta in Pacheco Valley. There were stagecoach routes linking Los Banos to New Idria and New Idria to Tres Pinos/Hollister.
