The Roadhouse Report

Six days and counting...

“You threw me over the side!"

“You were in my way.”

“What!”

He was suddenly on his feet, face thrust into hers. “You. Were. In. My. Way. We were in the dark and under attack in very close quarters. You weren’t armed and I know you can swim.”

“I could have—”

He kissed her. He tasted of blood and sweat and rage.

Sorry, you'll have to wait a week to learn how that scene ends.

And let's not forget the short stuff...

The Collected Short Stories includes all the Kate and Liam s/s as well as others written on demand for various collections and featuring new genres and characters and settings. A way to stretch the writer muscle, and fun.

On Patrol with the US Coast Guard contains all the blog posts from my 2004 Bering Sea ridealong on Alex Haley and my 2007 Eastern Pacific ridealong on Munro. You'll have a better appreciation for how hard Coasties work when they're out there in the middle of the ocean all alone. I sure did.

The Alaska Traveler includes all the columns and feature articles I wrote for Alaska magazine back in the day, including that infamous Chilkoot Trail hike.

October's Storyknife residents are departing as this newsletter lands in your inbox. They were over for dinner last week and like all of our residents they were so appreciative of the gift of time to work in a peaceful and beautiful place.

In support of that gift, this year a donor offered to match dollar for dollar every donation through the end of the year up to $50,000. It took a moment to recover my power of speech, but the 2022 Challenge Grant is now up and running and unbelievably we are already a third of the way to our goal--!!!

Which only means we've got two thirds of the way to go. To pitch in, click here to make your tax deductible donation and have our wonderful donor match it.

And thank you all for your support of next year's Storyknife writers!
