Two years after announcing the plan to move the capital to another island, the Indonesian government has finally come up with a new name for the capital: Nusantara, loosely translated as archipelago. We have published a series of analyses and insights responding to the plan since it was announced in 2019. Urban planning experts, economists as well as environmentalists have shared their thoughts to give us new perspectives behind this plan. This week, we have published two new articles, all based on research. First research offers solutions for mothers pursuing Master's and doctoral degrees as they have to juggle different roles as wives, mothers and students. The second one explains why the popularity of Indonesia's two largest Muslim organisations - Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) and Muhammdiyah - are decreasing in urban communities. The Conversation Indonesia is looking for 30 researchers to participate in our new program Science Leadership Collaborative. To learn more, please click this link.
