In a Record-Setting Year for Enrollment, UW–Madison Reaffirms Commitment to Wisconsin Families

Students get to class under a fall sun on UW–Madison's campus

"Just like me, my family thinks UW–Madison is one of the best universities in the world. I can’t stress enough how happy I am to be here." — Matthew Rilling, Omro, Wis.

The numbers are in. UW–Madison welcomed 8,628 new freshmen on campus this fall, making up the largest class in UW history. With a continued commitment to Wisconsin families, we admitted six of every 10 in-state students who applied, and fully covered tuition for nearly 800 of them through Bucky's Tuition Promise.
