Updated Library Search Guides & Support The Library has refreshed its Search Support service to make it easier to build strong, effective searches. At the heart of this is a new suite of self‑paced Search Guides, offering step‑by‑step support for planning searches, choosing the right tools, refining results and tackling more complex searches. Tailored support beyond the guides is also available via the Search Support Request Form. Find out more on the Library blog or contact the library ( library@flinders.edu.au).
Instats Affiliate Status Instats is facilitating an expert-led training for PhD and post-PhD researchers across a broad range of fields, methods, and theoretical orientations. The Affiliate Status allows our researchers to receive a 30% discount on an extensive range of 350+ On-Demand and Livestream
Consortium for the Advancement of Research Methods & Analysis (CARMA) There are over 250 recorded, high-quality lectures available free of charge for our staff and students that address various aspects of undertaking research. A full list of lectures is provided here, and information on how to register with a FU email address can be found here. The university’s membership in CARMA also allows our researchers to obtain a 50% discount on their short courses. In early June, there are 23 courses on offer, each being four days long. More information about this opportunity can be found here. Interested researchers are encouraged to negotiate with CARMA about recordings due to challenging time difference.

This series helps you structure your time, protect your energy, and build the steady progress your research degree relies on. Across the series, you’ll work with a certified habits coach, to learn how to set realistic research goals, create weekly planning systems, build daily productivity habits, and use reset strategies to maintain momentum throughout your degree.
Preparing for an HDR Industry Internship An industry internship offers a fantastic opportunity to gain insights into what it’s like to work in industry and to learn how the skills you are developing in your PhD program carry over into this new context. But the professional context can be very different to academia! To help you make the most of your internship, this workshop will prepare you for your first day and give you strategies for how you can leverage the internship experience to further develop your skills to benefit you in future job applications.
