Hello |
 |
Season's Greetings

It's so good to celebrate Christmas in Central Otago with our lovely hot weather, long summer days and fabulous cherries. Time for togs and
jandals! It was quite magical too, to be in Clyde last week for Christmas Carols in Oliver’s garden while sipping a mulled wine - and then, as the evening darkened, the Christmas street lights were turned on to the strains of the bagpipes. I see there will be carols in Cromwell, Alexandra, Ranfurly and Roxburgh this weekend for those of you yearning for a sing-a-long. Check the local paper for times and places.
All around the region there are a lot of music festivals, events and art exhibitions to lift our spirits over the next month or so. Check out the listings below.
Hullabaloo artists have a Christmas exhibition showing at the moment with some well-priced works, which would make wonderful gifts for that someone special – or how about one of their gift vouchers for a fabulous stocking filler.
It’s been a challenging year for us in some ways, but we are proud of our achievements and we thank you for your support with our various projects. First, there was the development of our new regional Arts Strategy, then the biennial Arts Gold Awards and most recently the full update of the Central Otago Arts Trail brochure. I encourage you to pick up an Arts Trail brochure from one of the local iSites and take a leisurely drive around to meet our talented artists - they love visitors.
We would like to wish everyone a peaceful and happy Christmas and a prosperous New Year. We hope that you will all have a relaxing break filled with family time and fun! Our office will be closed from the 21st of December until the 5th of January, then I'll be coming back with lots of new and exciting projects to kick off 2014! * * *
Thanks again and Happy Holidays!
