Latest annual Apprentice Voice survey results

We have published the latest annual Apprentice Voice results for 2025. Apprentice Voice is a series of surveys designed to gather feedback from apprentices at key stages of their apprenticeship journey. The latest results captured the views of over 11,000 apprentices.

  • In-training survey – issued around six months after the apprenticeship start date.
  • Leavers survey – issued around three months after leaving to capture immediate outcomes, benefits and next steps.
  • Short-term outcomes survey – issued around 15 months after leaving to explore longer-term outcomes and benefits.

Further analysis of the annual Apprentice Voice results is also available by equalities, local authorities and sectors. For any questions, please contact: evaluation&research@sds.co.uk

Updates to Learning Modules

Refreshed Data Management learning

We are pleased to share our newly reviewed Data Management modules, designed to support Modern Apprenticeship providers in maintaining accurate, up to date information within our systems.

The refreshed suite includes the following four modules:

•    Introduction to Data Management
•    Improving your Inactivity
•    Leavers and End Dates
•    Data Accuracy and Claim Validation

Effective data management is critical to ensuring that learner information is correct, current, and reliable.

These refreshed modules provide practical guidance, tips, and support to help reduce risk, improve data quality, and support effective decision making.

We encourage all staff involved in data input and maintenance to complete the modules and embed good data management practice. For further information, please get in touch with your Skills Investment Adviser.

Updated Equality Monitoring Module

Our updated Equality Monitoring module is now live on the Learning Management System and designed to support learning provider staff in understanding how equality data is collected and used within apprenticeships. The module covers why this data matters, how it informs funding and policy decisions, and how it contributes to SDS reporting.

We encourage all staff involved in apprenticeship delivery or administration to complete the module to strengthen understanding and support consistent, high-quality data collection.

New SIMD module now available

A new Understanding SIMD module is now available on the SDS LMS, designed to support staff across the skills system to better understand and use the Scottish Index of Multiple Deprivation.

Access the modules via the Learning Management System. Individuals can register using their work email and should include their organisation name for account validation.
